Ploughing the fields of England

From Leeds to Exeter leaving the railway station at a merry 11:11am cross country. Via, by alternative path, Conisborough and Rotherham(and how that town looked changed) and yet as we passed Swinton and Kilnhurst: that mucky canal was still dirty. I sat facing forward, but not in my reserved seat. No matter how many times I book a train ticket I am yet to be on the Table seat! I don't know how one manages this task? I sat opposite a girl heading the whole distance to Plymouth. I switched on my laptop to while away the hours: first 'The Mouse that Roared' and then most satisfyingly 'ANZACS' then the temperature rises. I decide to venture to get me a coffee from the concession on most trains only to find this company did away with that small allowance 2 years ago! A train travelling from Edinburgh to Plymouth has no refreshments car, What! So poxy 'Starbucks' brand coffee was bought from the trolley service. The only option of a sandwich for Vegi was Egg Mayo, what would a swashbuckling Vegan do for tasty morsel on this trip?

Anyhow I am now sat in 'The Phoenix' in central Exeter and the floor is bouncing to the sounds of some show beneath my feet while I linger over a chamomile tisane. I've just come from a great spot of food...The Dinosaur and feel like I may've pushed my alcohol frenzy into the corner tonight. Just too many afternoons and nights disappearing into a tin cup in North Bar.

Tomorrow I venture to Launceston on this Secret Appearance. I know what'll happen she'll be out! But hell a guys got to try and at £125 a return ticket its gotta be worth it; else I will never see that charming thing again as time and tide wait for no man/woman!

Not overly impressed by the backpackers I am in as it reminds me of one in Carnarvon in West Australia: one for itinerant workers not for happy slappy travellers!

No more of this I feel. I am still coughing and spluttering and need to venture back to yonder backpackers. Tomorrow is full of surprises!
